Down Syndrome Awareness Day
CECB classes and students celebrating what makes us all different!

Battle of Rivas
CECB brings to life the main civic events celebrated in Costa Rica. Each year in April, the Battle of Rivas and the heroism of Juan Santamaría are significant for Costa Rica as they symbolize the country's struggle for independence and the triumph of its people against external threats.
PE Events
Students participate in competitive events within Costa Rica and other MEP schools. Some of the events are track & field, volleyball, and futbol.
Student Leaders Election Day
Each year the students choose the best groups to represent their section of CECB. The groups deliver their initial speech, then campaign, and hold elections during snack and lunch breaks. At the end of the week each student demonstrates being part of the school democracy and votes for their choice of which student group to lead them. A circle time assembly announces the outcome for the whole school to celebrate their new leaders.
Art Day
This years art day theme is "The art of sound with an underwater student experience". Students in grades PreK through 11th grade learn fine art skills and have a day in June to showcase their work and projects throughout the semester. The students in grades 8 learn multimedia art & design and can apply their fine art techniques into the digital world. Each year the community is invited in to see the art gallery.
Annexation of Nicoya Celebrations

Students create an acto cívico each year to celebrate the Annexation of Nicoya and Guanacaste. Many classes recite the stories for historical recollection, and add some comedic flare with "Bombas" sayings.
Español Spelling Bee
The Español teachers created a annual student centered language day of sorts with games, friendly competition between the classes, and a spelling bee.
Children's Day
The annual Children's Day theme this year is magic themed. All CECB students get to take a day to be honored for our future generations and celebrate in a way that is unique for both students and staff.
Independence Day Celebrations

Independence Day Celebrations start with the CECB community gathering and running the torch through a community route to represent the freedoms of Costa Rica's Independence from Spain. Each grade creates their own unique dance or reenactments that represent the different areas of the country. This day is one of the most important days to celebrate the freedoms of Costa Rican's through a multicultural gathering and is always one of the best days of the school year to take part in.
