Batalla de Rivas
CECB brings to life the main civic events celebrated in Costa Rica. Each year in April, the Battle of Rivas and the heroism of Juan Santamaría are significant for Costa Rica as they symbolize the country's struggle for independence and the triumph of its people against external threats.

Student Leaders Election Day
Each year the students choose the best groups to represent their section of CECB. The groups deliver their initial speech, then campaign, and hold elections during snack and lunch breaks. At the end of the week each student demonstrates being part of the school democracy and votes for their choice of which student group to lead them. A circle time assembly announces the outcome for the whole school to celebrate their new leaders.
Art Day
This years art day theme is "The art of sound with an underwater student experience". Students in grades PreK through 11th grade learn fine art skills and have a day in June to showcase their work and projects throughout the semester. The students in grades 8 learn multimedia art & design and can apply their fine art techniques into the digital world. Each year the community is invited in to see the art gallery.
